By accessing and using Lurna ("the Platform"), you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services immediately.
These Terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, licensed customers, and institutional users. If you use Lurna on behalf of a school, company, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Lurna, Inc.
Eligibility
Lurna is intended for users aged 13 and above. By using the Services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
- If you are under 13, your parent, legal guardian, or educational institution must review and agree to these Terms before you use Lurna.
- Users must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies while using the Services.
Intellectual Property & Content Protection
All materials available on Lurna — including, but not limited to, notes, flashcards, AI-generated study guides, videos, graphics, and documents ("Content") — are the property of Lurna, Inc. or its licensors, and protected under intellectual property laws.
You may access and use Content solely for personal, educational, non-commercial purposes.
Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to:
- Copying, distributing, or reproducing Content without written permission.
- Sharing account credentials or providing third-party access.
- Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data.
- Selling, redistributing, or commercially exploiting Content.
- Uploading or sharing infringing or unlawful content.
- Using Content or Services to train, build, or enhance AI models without prior written consent.
Violations may result in account suspension, termination, legal action, and/or financial liability.
AI Functionality
Lurna provides AI-powered tools to enhance learning. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content may not always be accurate or error-free.
- AI outputs should not be used for cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty.
- You remain responsible for complying with your school's academic policies.
- Lurna may temporarily store anonymized interaction data to improve platform quality.
- Lurna assumes no liability for academic or professional consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
Account Registration & Security
To access certain features, you must create a Lurna account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information.
- Keep your password secure and confidential.
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized account activity.
Lurna may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Fraudulent activity
- Unauthorized sharing or resale
- Security risks
- Violation of these Terms
Payment, Subscription & Refund Policy
Subscription Management
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 1 day before renewal.
- You may cancel anytime through account settings.
- Upon cancellation, your account will downgrade at the end of the paid term.
Refund Policy
- Subscriptions are non-refundable, except where required by law.
- Price changes apply on the next renewal. If you disagree, you must cancel prior to renewal.
Payment Processing
Payments are securely processed through Stripe, Inc. Stripe's Terms of Service also apply to your transactions.
Institutional Subscriptions
Educational institutions may purchase licensed subscriptions for students, faculty, or staff.
- All users under an institutional subscription are bound by these Terms and Lurna's Privacy Policy.
- Institutions are responsible for ensuring proper consent is obtained for student users under 13, in compliance with COPPA and other laws.
- Additional contractual terms may apply through the institution's agreement with Lurna.
Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
We encourage resolving disputes informally. If unresolved, disputes will be handled by binding arbitration under the laws of Minneapolis, United States.
- Arbitration will follow American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules.
- Users waive rights to jury trials or class actions.
- You may opt out of arbitration by submitting written notice within 30 days of accepting these Terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Lurna provides all materials and services "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- Content is free from errors or inaccuracies.
- The Services will be uninterrupted or available at all times.
- The platform is free of all security vulnerabilities, though we employ industry-leading protections.
Downtime, maintenance, or unforeseen technical issues may occur. Lurna is not liable for interruptions, loss of data, or damages caused by outages.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lurna and its affiliates are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Loss of academic standing, grades, or study progress.
- Issues caused by third-party services or links.
- User disputes outside the platform.
User Conduct & Prohibited Activities
You are responsible for your use of the Services.
- Engage in unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent behavior.
- Upload malware, harmful code, or attempt to disrupt the platform.
- Harass, impersonate, or threaten other users.
- Violate any applicable laws or institutional rules.
Violations may result in termination, reporting to authorities, and legal action.
No Guarantee of Academic Outcomes
Lurna supports learning but does not guarantee:
- Academic success or exam results.
- Complete coverage of all course materials.
- Specific learning outcomes or results.
Your results depend on personal effort, study habits, and external factors.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on the Platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
Privacy Policy
Your use of Lurna is subject to Lurna's Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
Mobile Use
Lurna is designed for desktop use. Lurna may be accessed via mobile devices. You are responsible for data charges or fees associated with usage.
Termination & Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, non-payment, or other misuse of the Services.
Third-Party Services & Links
The Platform may link to third-party services. Lurna is not responsible for the content, policies, or actions of those services.
